Optometric Technician - Full-Time - Private Practice - Delran, NJ

About the Position:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Optometric Technician to join our team at Delran Eye Associates. As an Optometric Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting our optometrist in conducting eye exams, performing diagnostic tests, and assisting with contact lens purchases. Your role will be essential in providing top-notch eye care services to our valued patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation for Eye Exams: Assist in preparing examination rooms, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are readily available for eye exams.
  • Pre-Testing: Conduct preliminary tests and screenings to gather patient information, including visual acuity, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Contact Lenses: Assist patients with contact lens insertion and removal training. As well as discussing pricing and help patients to purchase contacts.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients on proper eye care, contact lens care, and the importance of regular eye exams.
  • Diagnostic Testing: Perform diagnostic tests such as retinal imaging and visual field testing as directed by the optometrist.
  • Maintain Records: Accurately record patient data and test results in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Patient Care: Provide exceptional customer service and patient care, ensuring a comfortable and welcoming environment.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with our optometrist and other team members to deliver comprehensive eye care services.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification as an optometric technician is a plus.
  • Previous experience in an optometry or eye care setting is preferred but not required.
