About Our Practice
The Eye Care Center of New Jersey has been caring for the surrounding communities since 1974. We are a thriving ophthalmology and optometry practice located conveniently, about one-mile from the Garden state Parkway in Bloomfield, New Jersey. We have three, full-time ophthalmologists and two, full-time optometrists working in the practice. Additionally, we have an optometry resident from Salus University. We have an excellent support team of technicians who assist our optometrists and ophthalmologists in caring for our patients. We have a friendly and warm work environment with doctors and employees who have been with the practice for many years.
Optometrist Job Duties & Responsibilities
We are searching for a talented OD to join our growing practice! You'll use your clinical and interpersonal skills to provide high-quality vision care to our patients. The ideal OD candidate is committed to delivering quality patient care, and is eager to learn and develop their clinical skill set. Regular duties will include:
- Perform comprehensive eye exams
- Diagnose and assist in the treatment of ocular disease
- Prescribe corrective lenses
- Promote healthy vision by counseling and educating patients
- Maintain detailed patient records regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and progress
- We provide excellent technician support
- No on-call responsibilities for our Optometrists
Optometrist Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree
- Valid state license to practice optometry
- Ability to communicate with a wide range of patient personalities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A strong sense of workplace professionalism and personal ethics
- Customer-service orientation with excellent interpersonal skills
