We are a well-established, physician-led comprehensive eye care practice serving patients throughout Central Kentucky. With a long-standing reputation in the community spanning more than 30 years, we are recognized as one of the leading comprehensive ophthalmology practices in the region. Our practice includes a dedicated surgery center and a collaborative team of experienced ophthalmologists and optometrists committed to providing exceptional patient care. This position offers the opportunity to split time equally between our Lexington and Frankfort locations while caring for a primarily geriatric patient population.
Ophthalmologist Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Medical degree in Ophthalmology
- Successful completion of an Ophthalmology residency
- Valid Kentucky medical license (or ability to obtain one)
- Comprehensive Ophthalmologist with an interest in cataract surgery
- Cornea experience is welcomed but not required
- New graduates are encouraged to apply, although experienced candidates who can start sooner are preferred

Environment: As a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist in our practice, you'll enjoy a balanced schedule that includes both clinic and surgery. You will typically see approximately 30 patients per day and perform an average of 25 surgeries per month. Surgical time is built into the schedule with approximately four half-day surgery blocks each month, allowing you to maintain an excellent balance between medical and surgical care. You'll work alongside a collaborative team of four ophthalmologists and three optometrists in a supportive, patient-focused environment.

Location: This position is based between our Lexington and Frankfort, Kentucky offices, with time divided equally between both locations. You'll practice in modern facilities equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical technology, including ZEISS OCT, Lenstar, A-scan and B-scan ultrasound, corneal topography, multiple fully equipped exam lanes, and everything needed to provide comprehensive medical and surgical eye care.
