Optician - Full time open to Part Time Thousand Oaks, CA
About this Practice
Growing private Optometry Practice in Thousand Oaks is looking for the right personality to work in a busy optometry office as a dispensing optician with potential to be trained if no experience. We have been in practice for 25 years with a low staff turn over.
About the Position
Full-time or Part Time is needed.
Applicants must be professional and genuinely enjoy working with patients, creating an exceptional customer experience. Three to five years of related optical experience preferred. Also preferred to have experience with EHR/EMR software. This position requires a strong attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast paced environment.
Knowing Insurance billing, Spanish, social media, and Essilor products would be a big plus. Willing to train the right person in these duties.
What You’ll Do:
As an optician in our practice, your regular duties will include:
- Selling, Dispensing and Frame Styling of eye wear
- Repairs / Adjustments of eye wears
- Contact Lens Insertion and Removal instruction
- Submitting insurance claims to vision carriers
- Answering phone lines and scheduling appointments
- Pre-testing of patients prior to eye exams, using an auto-refractor, visual field testing,
- Optomap and Optovue iWellness (OCT)
Compensation
Compensation will be based on experience with bonus opportunities.

- Monday - 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM
- Tuesday - 12:30 PM - 7:30 PM
- Wednesday - 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM
- Thursday - 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM
- Friday - 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
