Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented OPTICIAN to join our team.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional eye care services to our patients. As an Optician, you will be responsible for assisting patients in selecting eyewear, fitting and adjusting glasses, and ensuring that all optical needs are met with professionalism and care. This position requires a strong understanding of lens options, a strong sales background, and the ability to work effectively in a retail and clinical setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their prescription and lifestyle needs.
- Perform fittings and adjustments of eyeglasses to ensure proper comfort and functionality.
- Maintain accurate patient records while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Conduct basic patient pretesting.
- Provide education to patients regarding eyewear care and usage.
- Collaborate with optometrists to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Manage inventory of eyewear products and maintain an organized display area.
- Handle contact lens trainings
- Utilize retail math skills to assist with pricing, sales, and inventory management.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of optical department.
- Familiarity with medical billing processes and insurance protocols a plus.
- Proficiency in aseptic techniques to maintain a clean working environment.
- Excellent retail management skills to effectively handle customer interactions and sales strategies.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a clinical setting while maintaining high standards of patient care.
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in fittings, adjustments, and record keeping.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour (commensurate on experience)
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
