About the Position
Our new Optometric Assistant will be an integral member of our team! We are searching for a new team member to join our growing practice.
As an Optometric Technician in our practice, your regular duties will include:
- Gets and records patients’ preliminary case histories.
- Prepares patient for vision examination, and helps in testing for near and far acuity, depth perception, macula integrity, color perception, and visual field, utilizing ocular testing apparatus.
- Instructs patient in care and use of glasses or contact lenses. Works with patients in vision therapy.
- Assists patient in frame selection.
- Adjusts and repairs glasses.
- Modifies contact lenses.
- Maintains records, schedules appointments, performs bookkeeping, handles correspondence, and does the filing.
- Maintains inventory of materials and cleans instruments.
- Assists in the fabrication of eyeglasses or contact lenses.
