In business for over 30 years, we are a small but busy primary care optometry practice looking to replace a retiring staff member who was with us for 16 years. What you will enjoy the most about working with us is we are a "wag more and bark less" work environment. We love our free time, time off, and relaxed work schedule. We are open Monday through Thursday 9 to 5... no nights, no early mornings, no FRIDAYS, no WEEKENDS ! We can offer 3 to 4.5 days per week and pay a bit higher than the going average wage for our area. About the Optometric Technician Position
Our new Optometric Technician will be a welcome addition to our team and family who is both personable and welcoming to our patients. A passion for eye care and general patient health is essential to providing the best experience we can!
Optometric Technician Duties & Responsibilities
- Primary duties are patient pre-testing using Optos Optomap, iVue OCT, and Oculus visual field, taking histories and acuities, performing lensometry, and using a Tonpen for IOP checks.
- Using EyeFinity EHR and practice mgt software or OfficeMate
- Performing and training new contact lens patients on the process of inserting and removing a contact lens from their eye.
- Must be also open to cross training (Only necessary when needed to fill in for one of our technicians.) in order to fully work-up patients, including, but not limited to: Asking pre-testing questions, performing an auto-refraction, measuring IOP, taking retinal photos, running OCT's, visual fields, measuring visual acuity and more.
- Measure single vision, bifocal and progressive glasses prescriptions with a manual lensometer.
- Answering phones, booking patient appointments, verifying insurance, as well as checking patients in and out of the office.
- Submitting vision insurance claims.
- Ordering patient products including frames, lenses, contact lenses, sunglasses, and more.
