Optometrist – Full-Time – Full-Scope Medical Optometry – Montgomery, AL (Multi-Location Float)

This established independent optometry practice is the largest independent optometry practice in the region and is known for providing comprehensive, full-scope medical and primary eye care. With a strong clinical team, advanced diagnostic technology, and an expanding surgical offering, this is an excellent opportunity for an optometrist looking to practice a wide range of medical optometry in a well-supported environment.
The position will be floating between three area locations: Montgomery, Millbrook, and Greenville. Doctors who prefer not to float to all three locations must be willing to work between at least two of the three offices.
What You’ll Need:
- Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree
- Valid Alabama optometry license
- Full-scope clinical capabilities with a medical-focused mindset
- Strong chairside manner and excellent communication skills
- Comfortable talking with and educating patients
- Reliable, flexible, and adaptable
- Ability to work in a multi-location clinical environment

An office-based LASIK and cataract surgery center is currently being built inside the Montgomery office, with completion expected in approximately 6–7 months. This will provide an opportunity to work alongside an expanding surgical component within the practice.
Patient Volume:
Patient volume varies by location and from day to day, but typical volumes are approximately:
- Greenville: 25 patients per day
- Montgomery: 25–30 patients per day
- Millbrook: 25–30 patients per day
Technology:
Doctors have access to a strong selection of diagnostic and clinical technology, including:
- OCT
- Visual field testing
- ERG
- Optos
- Topography
- NeuroLens
- Uprise EHR
- And more
Support:
You’ll be surrounded by a strong and experienced clinical support team. Technicians handle key portions of the patient workup, including refraction and pressure checks, while scribe technicians assist each doctor with documentation.
The team includes:
- Technicians who perform patient workups, refractions, and pressure checks
- A dedicated scribe for each OD
- Front desk and administrative support
- Other optometrists at the Millbrook and Montgomery locations
Schedule:
Full-time position
Monday, Tuesday & Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Wednesday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- No weekends
- Full-time schedule
- Part-time may be considered for doctors available at least 3 days per week
- Providers will float between the Montgomery, Millbrook, and Greenville offices
Compensation & Benefits:
