Position Overview

We are currently seeking a part-time optometrist to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals looking to balance their career with other commitments, such as family, academia, or additional practices. The ideal candidate will be passionate about optometry, patient-focused, and eager to become a valued member of our friendly team.

Key Responsibilities

· Perform comprehensive eye examinations for patients of all ages, including refraction, ocular health assessments, and binocular vision analysis.

· Diagnose and manage ocular diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and dry eye syndrome.

· Prescribe corrective lenses, contact lenses, and therapeutic treatments as appropriate.

· Myopia prevention treatments

· Educate patients on eye health, preventative care, and the proper use of corrective lenses or medications.

· Collaborate closely with our team of opticians, technicians, and administrative staff to ensure a seamless patient experience.

· Maintain accurate and thorough medical records in accordance with legal and ethical standards.

· Refer patients to ophthalmologists or other healthcare professionals as necessary for advanced care.

· Participate in community outreach programs, health fairs, and clinic-sponsored events as needed.

Schedule and Hours

· Part-time position: 1-2 days per week to start

· Flexible scheduling, including options for mornings, afternoons

· No on-call or overnight shifts required

· Opportunities for additional hours based on clinical needs and your availability

Qualifications

· Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution

· Current and valid license to practice optometry in the state/province where the clinic is located

· One to two years’ experience preferred

· Excellent clinical skills with a commitment to delivering evidence-based care

· Strong interpersonal and communication abilities

· Passion for patient education and preventive eye health

· Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

· Willingness to stay current on advancements in optometric care and technology
