Position Details:
We’re seeking a dedicated and medically-focused optometrist to serve patients in our Brighton and Alton, IL offices. The role offers a balanced schedule, with three days in Brighton and two in Alton, providing a great opportunity to build strong patient relationships across both communities.
The ideal candidate is passionate about comprehensive eye care, thrives in a team environment, and is excited to grow with a practice that values both clinical excellence and patient satisfaction. A strong background in medical optometry is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive eye exams to assess vision and detect eye diseases.
- Diagnose and manage ocular conditions, including glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration.
- Prescribe and fit corrective lenses and contact lenses tailored to patient needs.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients.
- Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and lifestyle recommendations.
- Collaborate with the optical and healthcare teams to ensure the highest level of patient care.
- Maintain accurate medical records using RevolutionEHR.
- Stay current with advancements in optometry through continuing education.
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois optometry license.
- Preferred: 2+ years of experience in optometry or ophthalmology.
- Strong clinical skills with a focus on comprehensive and medical eye care.
- Passionate about eyewear, patient care, and sales.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records, particularly RevolutionEHR.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
