About the Practice
Baalman Eye Care Center (formerly Jackson & Baalman Eye Care Center) has been Wichita’s trusted eye care provider for families since 1970.

At Baalman Eye Care Center, we have invested in proven diagnostic and treatment technology to meet your unique vision needs. We offer comprehensive optometry services to help prevent and manage issues like keratoconus, glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eyes, and so much more.
What You’ll Do:
- Conduct thorough eye exams to evaluate vision and eye health
- General Optometry
- Educate patients on proper eye care and preventive measures
- Utilizing Electronic Health Records (EHR) for documentation
- Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other visual aids
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage Macular Degeneration and other retinal conditions
- Diagnose and manage glaucoma and related ocular conditions
- Fit and prescribe contact lenses, including soft, rigid gas permeable (RGP), and scleral lenses
- Provide patient education on proper lens care and follow-up maintenance
Utilize cutting-edge technology and equipment, including:
- Optos retinal imaging
- Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) for detailed retinal imaging
- Visual field testing systems
- OPD Topography and Keratometry System
- Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Therapy System
What You’ll Need:
- Fresh graduates are welcome
- Familiarity with optical products and services
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree
- Active state optometry license
- Strong understanding of ocular physiology and vital signs
You’ll Work Closely With:
- Technicians who assist with scribing and clinical support
- Opticians for eyewear dispensing and patient coordination
- Front Desk staff for scheduling and patient communication
- In-house Billing Department for seamless insurance and payment processing
