About the Practice
Penobscot Eye Care is a bustling, medically oriented optometry office with a long, successful history in the area. We support four full-time optometrists in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining excellent patient care and a strong sense of community. Our state-of-the-art facility includes nine fully equipped exam lanes, a Humphrey visual field analyzer, Zeiss Cirrus HD OCT, the latest Optos Optomap camera, and a full spectacle edging laboratory. Our dependable and compassionate support staff ensures a high standard of care, complemented by our cooperative and respected relationships with local ophthalmologists.
With office hours from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy all the recreational opportunities the great state of Maine has to offer. We are within 30 minutes of the coast and two hours of world-class downhill skiing, with excellent hiking, biking, boating, and camping just around the corner. Additionally, we are close to The University of Maine Orono, Husson University, and the Maine Waterfront Concerts venue, all offering outstanding musical, theatrical, and sporting performances. What You’ll Do:
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and manage ocular health
- Diagnose and treat eye diseases and disorders
- Prescribe corrective lenses and provide pre- and post-operative care
- Educate patients on vision care and eye health
- Collaborate effectively with a supportive team and local ophthalmologists
What You’ll Need:
- Active Maine optometry license
- Graduate of an accredited school of optometry
- Commitment to maintaining licensure and completing yearly continuing education
- Adherence to CDC guidelines regarding COVID-19
