Join Our Prestigious Suburban Optometry Practice in the Heart of Maine – Explore a Unique Three-Month Trial with the Potential for a full-time Four-Day Workweek!
Enjoy a Balanced Lifestyle: Our doctors earn a competitive full-time salary while working just four days a week, with no evening or weekend hours. We offer a guaranteed base salary plus the potential to earn more through a production-based income scale, ensuring a rewarding career with us.
Be Part of a Trusted Legacy: Our thriving medical-focused practice has been a cornerstone of the Lewiston community for over 65 years. With a stellar 4.8-star rating from 500+ Google reviews, we’ve earned the trust of generations of patients. Many have been with us since childhood and now bring their own families to our care.
Diverse and Dynamic Patient Care: Experience a varied caseload with patients ranging from infants to centenarians. From routine eye care to managing complex cases like low vision and foreign bodies, no two days are the same. You’ll see around 20-23 patients per day, ensuring a fulfilling and dynamic work environment.
Ideal Candidate Profile: We’re seeking an optometrist with strong skills in primary eye care and contact lens fitting. While experience with specialty lenses, like scleral lenses is a plus, it’s not a requirement. Your expertise will enhance our services and help us continue to provide top-notch care. In Maine, we have full glaucoma treatment privileges and expect our doctors to treat and manage glaucoma as well as coordinate with local M.D. for those patients needing more advanced treatments. We actively co-manage both cataract and refractive surgery patients; familiarity with those aspects of eye care would also be an advantage.
Explore Life in Lewiston, Maine: Nestled in the heart of Maine, Lewiston is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts with endless opportunities for hiking, biking, and water sports. Plus, world-class skiing at Sugar Loaf and Sunday River is just a short drive away. If you’re a foodie, you’ll love being just 45 minutes from Portland, the culinary capital of New England.
Licensing Made Simple: Candidates should either hold or be in the process of obtaining their Maine license. The board of Optometry has streamlined the licensing process, making it easier than ever with just a simple online quiz and a fee payment to start practice in Maine. We would be willing to reimburse costs for new Maine licensees and potentially assist with moving expenses for the right candidate.
