Optometrist- Part-time - Private Practice - MI
This position is a part-time position, split as 2 days/week in our Ann Arbor office and 1 day/week in our Novi office.
Established in 2023, both our Novi and Ann Arbor offices were built brand new with state-of-the-art equipment and a modern design. We pride ourselves on giving every patient an elevated experience, and our google reviews show for it. Our staff love the technology that makes their lives easier, and the structured processes give them autonomy.
Why You’ll Love This Opportunity:
EXPOSURE
- Do what you love - We are looking for a part-time long-term optometrist eager to practice full-scope optometry, and more importantly grow with the practice. As an OD in our practice, you can anticipate providing primary care, but also diagnosing and treating medical care such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, AMD, cataracts, red eyes, and dry eyes. The most important credential the doctor can have is patient rapport! Staff will train and support you in coding and billing.
- Expectations for the doctor (training will be provided for procedures doctor is not familiar in):
o Primary care – prescribing glasses/contacts
o Pediatric exams – ages 3-5 yrs and up
o Glaucoma diagnosis and treatment (within scope)
o Diabetic retinopathy diagnosis and treatment (within scope)
o Red eyes (within scope)
o Dry eye diagnosis and treatment (within scope), (e.g. punctal plugs, amniotic membranes, etc) – *preferred but optional
o Scleral/RGP lenses – *preferred but optional
o Myopia management – *preferred but optional
ENVIRONMENT
• A well-equipped office - Our practices are equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic instruments such as Maestro OCT with pachymetry and anterior segment, Corneal Topography, Optomap, Visual Fields, iCare Tonometry, Slit Lamp Camera, and digital phoropters.
• Highly trained technicians – Our techs perform not only a detailed history for primary care and medical care patients, but also on every patient auto-refraction/keratometry, corneal topography, fundus photography, VAs, cover test, color vision, stereopsis, blood pressure, confrontations, pupils, EOMs, NPC, iCare tonometry, full charting, and special testing as needed (OCT, VF, etc),. They also do the contact lens trainings. The doctor is only required to do slit lamp, refraction, and patient education.
• Flexible appointment book – Most exams are 30 minute time slots, with the technician performing all their testing within 15 minutes – the doctor then has 15 minutes to do slit lamp, refraction, and patient education. We will never double book a doctor, and the slots before lunch and before end of day are blocked off.
• Modern office – both locations have a private doctor’s office, with staff to support your needs. Equipment is all integrated and EHR has AI scribing capabilities.
