Center Street Community Health Center (CSCHC) is a major healthcare provider in the Marion, Ohio area providing primary healthcare and related services for the uninsured and underinsured populations in our community.  We have integrated healthcare sites strategically located where our patients need us most. Center Street Community Health Center provides a broad spectrum of services at our various sites including, but not limited to, optometry dentistry, family medicine, behavioral health, and lab services. Our compassionate and mission-driven staff is dedicated to providing high-quality care to underserved communities, and we are looking for a team member who shares this mission and is committed to making a meaningful impact in patient care in downtown Marion. 

We are searching for a talented Optometrist to join our growing practice! You'll use your clinical and interpersonal skills to provide high-quality vision care to our patients. The ideal Optometrist candidate is committed to delivering quality patient care and is eager to learn and develop their clinical skillset. 

Position Summary:

Perform vision tests and analyze results. Diagnose sight problems, such as nearsightedness or farsightedness and eye diseases, such as glaucoma. Prescribe eyeglasses and medications.

Essential duties and Responsibilities:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

1. Perform standard eye exams for patients on a daily basis, meeting productivity goals.

2. Check for evidence of disease, injury, or other problems impacting vision.

3. Provide prescriptions for corrective lenses as needed.

4. Listen to and address patient’s questions and concerns.

5. Educate patients regarding the eye care and vision correction options.

6. Analyze results from all tests conducted and share results with patients.

7. Prescribe medications when needed.

8. Utilize all necessary equipment properly, ensuring it is in good working order and communicating potential issues to management. 

9. Coordinate with the rest of the staff as needed to meet patient’s’ needs.

10. Check prescription and fit of corrective lenses.

11. Record all tests, prescriptions, and treatments in the EHR.

12. Participate in staff development and training.

13. Refer patients to trusted specialists (ophthalmologist) as needed.

 Qualifications

· Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) required from an accredited educational institution

· Current state optometry license, valid and in good standing

· New graduates welcomed; Preferred Minimum two years’ experience working as a practicing optometrist

· Solid working knowledge of all ophthalmic equipment needed to conduct examinations

· Current medical knowledge of testing and treatments for eye injuries and diseases

· Continued commitment to remaining up to date on the latest research and techniques
