Optometrist-Full Time-Private Practice-Cornwall, ON (No Weekends)

Our Cornwall practice has a loyal patient base and steady demand for eyecare. We're moving into a brand-new clinic in early 2028 and hiring a full-time optometrist to grow with us. You'll start at our current location and move with the team to the new space.

We focus on full-scope primary eye care for patients of all ages, with opportunities in myopia management, dry eye treatment, and ocular disease management. If you have a clinical interest beyond these, such as specialty contact lenses, vision therapy, or concussion rehab, we'll help build it into your practice. A dedicated pre-testing team, dispensing staff, and front desk support handle the workflow, so you can focus on patient care.

Whether you're an experienced clinician or a 2027 graduate looking for mentorship from the practice owner, we'd like to hear from you.

What you'll need

  • Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree, or graduating in 2027
  • Licence to practise optometry in Ontario, or eligibility to obtain one
  • A patient-first approach and strong interpersonal skills
  • Interest in full-scope primary care, including myopia management, dry eye, and ocular disease

Why you'll like it here

Clinical variety: Comprehensive exams, myopia management, dry eye care, and ocular disease management for children through seniors. You'll typically see two patients per hour, occasionally three.

Support: Pre-testing technicians prepare patients, the dispensing team handles eyewear sales, and front desk staff manage scheduling, so your day runs smoothly.

A modern, high-end clinic: The new location will feature an autorefractor, OCT, fundus camera, and visual field testing in a refined clinical space.

Schedule: Five days a week, no weekends.

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Wednesday: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Friday: 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM

Compensation: Production-based pay that rewards your clinical and dispensing work: % of exam revenue plus % of dispensing fees.

Why Cornwall?
A welcoming smaller city with a comfortable cost of living, about an hour from Ottawa and a little over an hour from Montreal, right by the New York State border. Our patients are loyal, and you'll have the chance to build lasting relationships with them.

If you want to practise full-scope optometry with a supportive team and help shape a new clinic, we would love to hear from you!
