Prisma Health, the largest not-for-profit healthcare organization in South Carolina, seeks a Doctor of Optometry who is specialized in pediatric care to join our team of excellent providers. Residency training in Pediatric Optometry or Medical Pediatric Optometry desired. Preferred to have completed a residency in a program with both pediatric optometrists and pediatric ophthalmologists, possibly even affiliated with a children’s hospital. Ideal candidate would enjoy working with a pediatric population (early childhood-late teens) and be well-versed in the diagnosis and management of binocular vision and developmental vision disorders. Candidate should be willing to collaborate with our team of two pediatric ophthalmologists and should be comfortable performing failed vision screenings referred from local school systems. Proficiency in fitting pediatric specialty contact lenses (i.e. lenses for aphakia, keratoconus, microcornea, etc) is desired. The department is a teaching department, training residents and medical students from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine.
