Associate OD Position in Pierre, South Dakota
Central Dakota Eyecare is seeking a part-time to full-time optometrist in Pierre, South Dakota. This position will focus on multiple aspects of optometry including primary care, ocular disease, and pre/post operative care. The practice currently offers specialty contact lens and dry eye services and has the potential for low vision and vision therapy, furthering the opportunity for the optometrist to expand their services. South Dakota has recently expanded optometry’s scope of practice to include YAG and SLT, as well as multiple eyelid procedures. Central Dakota Eyecare is currently in the process of obtaining certification for these procedures and obtaining the lasers and instruments to perform them.
Central Dakota Eyecare has been providing comprehensive eyecare and optical services in central South Dakota since 1980. We are currently a four doctor practice seeing 60-70 patients/day. Pierre does not have daily ophthalmology or emergency eyecare services, so our practice serves those emergency services and will see all aspects of ocular disease. This is a very busy practice that will offer variety from day to day and allow the optometrist to practice to the highest of their training and licensure. Our technology currently includes multiple auto-refractors and tonometers, Optos, Antares+ Multi-functional topographer, Cirrus 4000 OCT, Optilight IPL, and a virtual visual field.
Pierre is located in central South Dakota along the Missouri River and is only a couple hours from Sioux Falls and Rapid City. Central South Dakota is an outdoor enthusiast paradise offering fishing, hunting, water sports, winter sports, hiking, biking, and running trails. The cities of Pierre and Fort Pierre offer many amenities and are an excellent place to raise a family. The Pierre Regional Airport offers 12 round-trip flights to Denver weekly.
Compensation will be discussed with the candidate but will include a competitive base salary with a generous production incentive. Benefits include paid health insurance and 401K. There are no vacation or PTO limitations, offering exceptional flexibility.
