 Allied Eye is a well established ophthalmology practice located in Chattanooga, TN.  We are  looking to add an energetic, hardworking, highly efficient optometrist to our team to work four days a week. Our high volume practice gives the candidate the opportunity to practice optometry to the full scope of their license. 

Our staff is experienced, knowledgeable and always focused on the patient experience. Technicians provide a comprehensive work up for the doctor including IOP, visual acuity, autorefraction, chief complaint, medical history, medications and lensometry readings.  

Using the most advanced, state-of-the-art diagnostic technology and eye care products available, the full-time Optometrist will be: 

  • Providing comprehensive patient care to diagnose, treat, and manage diseases and disorders such as glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, and other retinal conditions
  • Perform testing and analysis and develop treatment plan
  • Provide pre and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care
  • Perform routine vision examinations
  • Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses and medications
  • Educate patients on proper eye care practices and answer any questions or concerns they may have
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic health record systems
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in optometry practices and technologies

Requirements:

  • Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited optometry school
  • Residency training preferred but not essential
  • Knowledge of ophthalmology principles and practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide excellent patient care
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems 
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
