OPTOMETRIST – FULL TIME (No Weekends, Short Fridays)

Full-Scope Clinical Optometry · Primary Eye Care · Medical Eye Management

WHO WE ARE

Vision Source Kerrville is a privately owned, patient-first practice in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. As a Vision Source affiliate, we offer something rare: the independence and soul of a private practice backed by the resources of a large professional network — without corporate constraints, production quotas, or the revolving door of employed ODs.

We are a true primary care optometry practice. That means comprehensive eye care, meaningful medical eye management, surgical co-management, and the full diagnostic and therapeutic scope of the optometric license — practiced with purpose, not just efficiency. Our patients are loyal. Our team is tight-knit. Our care is unhurried.

We are growing, and we are looking for the right doctor to grow with us.

WHAT YOUR DAY LOOKS LIKE

  • Comprehensive eye examinations: Technicians do full work up, automated lanes
  • Medical eye management: glaucoma, AMD, diabetic eye disease, anterior segment pathology, we see it all
  • Contact lens fittings of all types
  • Co-management of cataract surgery and refractive surgery: integrated into our clinic
  • Advanced dry eye evaluation and treatment.
  • Genuine relationship-building with patients who return — and refer their families
  • Collaboration with a stable, experienced support team who respect your clinical judgment

OUR CLINICAL TECHNOLOGY

Our clinic is equipped with the tools to practice at a high clinical level:

  • Optomap Imaging
  • Zeiss OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography)
  • Virtual Visual Fields
  • OPD III: autorefraction with wavefront analysis and topography
  • Automated Marco exam lanes
  • Dry Eye Suite: Oculus Keratograph with meibography, Lumenis OptiLIGHT IPL, OptiLIFT, LLLT, TearCare
  • RETeval ERG
  • Full Optical, in-house edging

LIFE IN THE TEXAS HILL COUNTRY

Kerrville is a small city with a high quality of life.

The pace here is not slow in the way that limits you, but unhurried in the way that restores you. You will leave work at a reasonable hour. You will have weekends that actually feel like yours.

The Hill Country rewards the people who choose it:

  • The Guadalupe River — swimming, kayaking, and fishing practically at your doorstep
  • Fredericksburg & Texas wine country — 30 minutes
  • San Antonio — major metro, international airport, less than an hour away
  • Hunting, hiking, cycling, and outdoor recreation in every direction
  • Strong local schools and a genuine community

Whether you are planting roots for the first time or trading a busy market for something better, Kerrville has a way of feeling like home quickly. Doctors who move here tend to stay.
