The Eye MDs is a productive, physician-owned private practice and market leader in ophthalmology for the mid-Ohio Valley since 1992. We are seeking an optometrist for full-time employment.
Productivity
Our offices in Marietta, Ohio, and Parkersburg, WV, cater to a vast area, providing comprehensive ophthalmologic care within a 70+ mile radius. The significant demand for both general and subspecialty ophthalmology services results in an impressive 18,900+ patient visits and 5,000+ eye surgeries annually. Our practice boasts exceptional efficiency, evidenced by an average of 3000 cataract surgeries yearly which are all done at our own ambulatory surgery center in Belpre, Ohio.
We currently have three comprehensive ophthalmologists; one is partially retired and no longer performing cataract surgery. We are looking for an optometrist to assist with medical eye care. We do not sell glasses or contacts, this position is primarily medical ophthalmic care (e.g. glaucoma, dry eyes, triage, cataract evaluations and post-ops, etc.) There is an excellent opportunity to do low vision work if you are interested as there are no low vision providers in the area. The position will have a significant amount of glaucoma patients from day one. We would prefer an optometrist that is graduating soon (in 2025 or 2026), or a currently practicing optometrist that has recently finished training. We have an immediate opening for this busy full-time opportunity.
Innovation
Continuous innovation sets us apart, as we have provided services unavailable at other regional practices or hospitals. We are the only regional ophthalmology group to offer Laser-assisted cataract surgery (LenSx). We also offer advanced technology IOLs (toric, multifocal, trifocal, and EDOF lenses) as well as All-laser LASIK and laser eyelid surgery. We are now offering the Light Adjustable IOL by RxSight. All of our surgery is done at our own Physicians Outpatient Surgery Center, Ltd., a Medicare certified Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC).
Our offices and equipment are modern and aesthetically pleasing, with a NexTech EHR-based system and a well-trained staff with numerous COAs and COTs. There are no local glaucoma specialists, and we do more than 400 glaucoma laser procedures and over 4,000 glaucoma tests (visual fields and optic nerve imaging) per year.

As a physician-owned practice, we value each partner's quality of life and have the autonomy to build flexible schedules. We offer two weeks of PTO and a week for CME to start, allowing associates to enjoy traveling the world and spending time with their families.
