About Our Practice

Advanced Family Eyecare is a family-owned business serving patients in the beautiful community of Waupaca. We built our practice from the ground up on a foundation that provides the highest level of patient experience. It is our mission to give our patients the vision care they truly deserve. As a full scope practice, we offer services such as comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings, medical treatment and diagnosis, and urgent eye care to patients of all ages. We utilize state-of-the-art technology to continuously provide patients with the highest quality of eye health and vision care. 

Our highly trained team of technicians will support the optometrist with pretesting, refracting, and medical transcription for data entry allowing you to focus on patient care. We are a medically focused practice with the majority of our treatments relating to dry eye, glaucoma, diabetic, macular degeneration, and emergency care. On average, our optometrist sees 18-22 patients per day. Our clinic has five exam lanes equipped with the latest technology, including:

  • Marco TRS-5100 Digital Phoropters
  • RETeval ERG
  • Cirrus 6000 OCT with Anterior Segment and OCT Angiography 
  • MDelite IPL/RF/LLLT with aesthetics 
  • Lipiflow
  • Optomap Monaco with OCT 
  • Visual Fields
  • Firefly Anterior Segment Imaging in all exam lanes
  • Topography
  • Eaglet Scleral Profilometry for scleral lens fittings
  • Optical Biometry for Myopia Management

Optometrist Job Duties & Responsibilities

We are searching for a passionate OD to join our growing practice! You'll use your clinical and interpersonal skills to provide high-quality vision care to our patients. The ideal OD candidate is caring, compassionate, motivated, and has a solid medical eye care background. 

This position is a full-time opportunity.  If you have an interest in specific specialty care, we are here to help you gain the knowledge and experience in that specialty. 

Your regular duties will include:

  • Perform comprehensive eye exams
  • Diagnose and management of ocular disease
  • Prescribe corrective lenses
  • Provide pre- and post-operative care to surgical patients
  • Promote healthy vision by counseling and educating patients
  • Maintain detailed patient records regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and progress using Revolution EHR
  • Eye care emergencies
  • Scleral lens fittings
  • Full scope dry eye management utilizing IPL/RF/LLLT and Lipiflow
  • Myopia Management

Optometrist Job Requirements & Qualifications

  • Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree
  • Valid state license to practice optometry
  • A strong sense of workplace professionalism and personal ethics

Compensation and Benefits

Base Salary: $150,000 ( $200K+ earning potential with bonus pay)

This position is for a 4 day work week totaling 32 to 33 hours of patient care as well as benefits including:

  • 3 weeks PTO
  • 1 week sick pay
