Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Optometrist to join Los Angeles Vision Institute. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services, including examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of various ocular conditions. You will play a critical role in patient care, ensuring that each individual receives personalized attention and quality service. Your expertise in eye care and optical experience will contribute to our commitment to enhancing the vision health of our community.
Position Details:
- Compensation: $120,000/year
- Schedule: Monday through Friday (no weekends)
- Contract: 1-year agreement with option to renew
- Opportunities for growth, including bonuses and expanded roles in future years
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision and diagnose ocular conditions.
- Provide appropriate treatment plans, including prescribing corrective lenses and medications.
- Maintain accurate medical records and document patient interactions.
- Educate patients on eye health, proper contact lens care, and preventive measures.
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists in the office for peri-operative and comprehensive patient care.
- Stay updated on advancements in optometry and related fields.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Assist with the management of medical terminology and coding for billing purposes.
- Provide exceptional customer service to enhance patient satisfaction.
Requirements
- Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid state licensure to practice optometry.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to eye care.
- Team-oriented, punctual, and clinically sharp
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment
- Confident in primary care and interested or experienced in surgical peri-operative management
- Proficiency in using systems for efficient record keeping.
- Familiarity with vital signs assessment and basic health screenings.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients.
- Experience in an optical setting is advantageous.
