About Our Practice

Global LASIK & Cataract Institute is seeking a caring, motivated part-time optometrist to join our Woodland Hills office. Our practice provides medical and surgical eye care, including LASIK, refractive lens exchange, cataract surgery, and corneal cross-linking. We are committed to helping patients improve their vision while protecting their long-term eye health.

Our office offers a professional, non-retail setting equipped with the latest diagnostic technology and supported by a full team of clinical and administrative staff. You will work closely with our ophthalmology team in an environment that values clinical judgment, clear communication, and attentive, personalized care.

Located in Woodland Hills, our office serves patients from the surrounding San Fernando Valley communities. Our clinical focus brings opportunities to care for adults exploring vision correction, patients considering cataract or lens-based procedures, and those who need ongoing eye care. We are looking for a doctor who takes the time to listen, explains findings clearly, and helps every patient feel informed and comfortable.

Optometrist Job Duties & Responsibilities

You will use your clinical and interpersonal skills to deliver thorough, compassionate eye care. Responsibilities, based on your credentials and scope of practice, will include:

• Perform comprehensive eye examinations, refractions, and ocular health assessments.
• Diagnose and manage ocular conditions within your scope of practice, coordinating with our ophthalmologists as appropriate.
• Participate in preoperative evaluations and postoperative care for cataract and refractive surgery patients.
• Perform and interpret diagnostic testing to support clinical assessment and treatment planning.
• Prescribe corrective lenses when appropriate.
• Educate patients about their eye health, treatment options, visual expectations, and follow-up care.
• Recognize urgent ocular findings and arrange timely evaluation, treatment, or referral.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records, including examination findings, treatment plans, and progress.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to provide a smooth, welcoming patient experience.

Optometrist Job Requirements & Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited program.
• Active California optometry license in good standing, with certifications appropriate to assigned duties.
• Strong clinical judgment and a commitment to excellent patient care.
• A warm, professional chairside manner and the ability to communicate effectively with patients of different backgrounds.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and professional ethics.
• A collaborative approach and a willingness to continue developing your clinical skills.
• Comfort using electronic health records and modern diagnostic equipment.

Experience in medical optometry, an ophthalmology setting, or cataract and refractive surgery co-management is preferred, not required. Candidates with a strong clinical foundation and an interest in medical and surgical eye care are encouraged to apply.
