About Our Practice
Our busy and well-established private OD/MD eye care center in central Connecticut, is seeking 1-2 full-time or part-time Doctors of Optometry to join our growing team of providers.
Our practice is patient-centered, with MDs and ODs collaborating to deliver the highest quality care. The office features modern diagnostic equipment, a skilled technical staff, and an on-site, privately managed optical shop.

Optometrist Job Duties & Responsibilities
Our new OD will be a welcome addition to our team and family. You'll use your clinical and interpersonal skills to provide high-quality vision care to our patients. The ideal candidate for the optometrist position is entrepreneurial, treats patients in a caring and friendly manner, is a team player, and solutions-oriented. We will provide mentorship and training by our experienced doctors to help with the transition into the practice.
Your regular duties will include:
- Perform comprehensive eye exams
- Diagnose and assist in the treatment of ocular disease
- Prescribe corrective lenses
- Provide pre- and post-operative care to surgical patients
- Promote healthy vision by counseling and educating patients
- Handle eyecare emergencies
- Dry eye
- Diabetic eye exams
Optometrist Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree (or pending)
- Valid state license to practice optometry (or pending)
- A strong sense of workplace professionalism and personal ethics
- Customer-service orientation with excellent interpersonal skills
