Optometrist – Full-Time – Private Practice – No Weekends – West Hartford, CT
A well-established, independently owned private practice is seeking a full-time Optometrist to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to practice full-scope optometry across three conveniently located offices in the West Hartford area, with West Hartford serving as the primary location.
New graduates and experienced Optometrists are both encouraged to apply!
Schedule
- Monday: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Tuesday: 9:00 AM–6:30 PM
- Wednesday: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Thursday: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Friday: 7:00 AM–2:00 PM
- No weekends!
- Daily lunch: 1:00–2:00 PM
Clinical Responsibilities
The Optometrist will provide comprehensive eye care to a diverse patient population, with an average of approximately 18–23 patients per day.
Services include:
- Comprehensive eye examinations
- Diabetic eye exams
- Emergency eye care
- Geriatric eye care
- Pediatric eye care
- Contact lens evaluations and fittings
- Orthokeratology (Ortho-K)
- Specialty contact lens care
- Photobiomodulation
- Full-scope optometry and medical eye care
- Optical services through the onsite optical
Experience with specialty areas such as Ortho-K, scleral lenses, or glaucoma is a plus, but not required.
Advanced Technology
The practice utilizes modern diagnostic and treatment technology, including:
- OCT
- A-scan and B-scan
- Multiple corneal topographers
- Visual field testing
- Low-level light therapy (LLLT)
- Advanced dry eye and ocular surface technology
- And more
Supportive Team Environment
You'll work alongside experienced Doctors, Opticians, and Technicians who handle patient workups and provide strong clinical support. The collaborative environment allows doctors to focus on patient care while having the resources and team support needed to provide exceptional service.

What We're Looking For
- Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree
- Connecticut optometry license or eligibility for licensure
- Strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care
- New graduates and experienced Optometrists welcome
- Specialty experience is a plus, but not required
